I Got a New Chair!!

Okay, before I get to the new chair, I want to ask if anyone out there prefers this type size.  I can’t seem to change the size of the title but I am using 14 pt. here.  How’s it look?   I can’t find any place in Live Writer where I can change the default type size.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Anyway, if you have a bad back, you will understand how hard it is to sleep in a traditional bed.  Give me a few hours in bed and then I need to go sleep in my recliner.  It’s actually more my hip than my back but that’s irrelevant Smile !

The point is, I was having great difficulty getting enough uninterrupted sleep in the motorhome.  The bed is more comfortable than the one in the house but still, it was just not the same without a recliner to sleep in for half the night.

If you have ever seen a Lazy Daze, you know that the interior is not all that roomy.  That’s fine with us cuz it’s just right for two Smile!! We have looked at recliners in every furniture store in town and online as well.  Nothing would fit.

Finally Russ went to Countryside Interiors, a short distance down the road in Junction City.  They do a great job on customizing interiors and they have quite a selection of RV furniture.

Wouldn’t you know it?  We found a Euro- lounger type chair that fit!!  I couldn’t believe it!  It certainly fills up the space but not uncomfortably so.

It is SOOOO comfortable and there is even room for it to swivel as needed.  The foot rest can be stored under the table or back between the beds.  It was even the right color wood!  The chair is light enough to pull out or push back closer to the wall as needed.

It feels so good when I am reclining I may just move on out to the motorhome!

Just knowing I will be able to sleep makes me feel so much better.  I must have the best husband in the WHOLE world!

  1. I think the new type is very readable. I wish I had known you needed a recliner like that. You could have had mine. :)

  3. I have a similar problem, I can't sleep in a bed at all, my back just can't hack it. At home I have the Lazy Boy to end all Lazy Boy's and I sleep ok in it, my back just will never let me sleep an entire night so I get what I can at night.

In the RV we have a nice leather recliner but it's just too small. Next year I am looking into a larger one that hopefully will fit.

I'm glad you found something that works! I have not tried to set a default size value in Live Writer but I will look into it. I also use a size 14 font.

  4. Like the 14 font -- you look very comfy in your new chair. Do they have a website -- I have a friend looking for a chair with the footrest that stows.

  5. Who knew we had so many with back problems! I hope your new chairs allows you to rest comfortably. I can sit and lie down without pain. I can't walk or stand for more than 5 minutes and it's driving me nuts. PT tomorrow. Medication doesn't seem to be helping at all. Hope they can do surgery.

Type looks great. Thanks for thinking, as always, of your readers, Donna. Again, hope you are able to rest pain free.

  6. I don;t think you can change the title type size. I usually post Live Writer to Blogger and manipulate the type size there. The new chair looks very comfy!

  15. You can make changes to all fonts, sizes, colors, etc, but it has to be done in Blogger ... Go to Design in your dashboard, then select Template Designer. Font options are under Advanced. Depending on your existing template, you can customize it to your heart's content (some are more restrictive). Make sure you always save your current template first so you can revert to it if necessary.

If Rick doesn't jump in with specific instructions and you need help, drop me a note and I'll give you step by steps after I return home.

  18. Font is fine! If I can't read someone's blog because of font size, I just zoom to a higher level and everything is OK, and even the pictures get bigger, so Suzy (across the room while I read aloud) can see them.

  19. Great looking recliner and you sure do look comfy under that quilt!

For many reasons, Live Writer does not have a default font size. All changes to font’s, colors, headings and any other default settings must be made to your Blogger Template as Live Writer only imports those defaults from Blogger.

So, to change from Trebuchet to say Arial, you would have to go to Blogger > Design > Template Designer > Advanced and look for ‘Text Font’ and simply change it from Trebuchet to Arial. If the font size can be changed, it will also be available here. Finally, and this is important, you MUST then go to Live Writer and update/download your new “Theme” from Blogger to Live Writer.

The ‘Update Theme’ is located under ‘Blog Account’ on the Live Writer 2011 toolbar. For the XP version of Live Writer the tool is called ‘Configuration Update’.

  21. Great looking chair. We found a recliner for Jim that helps him with his back in Indiana. Needless to say it moved from the motorhome to the fifth wheel with us.

  23. The new chair looks nice. We have been looking to replace our barrel chairs, too, but everything we've found is too big for our little space.

  24. I really like your new recliner. I have barrel chairs and that recliner would make a good replacement for one of them.
