Goodbye Santa Cruz

After six days of fun and frolic in the Santa Cruz area, we had to say goodbye this morning and head on down the road.  We have an appointment at the factory on Thursday morning to get the awning fixed so we are going to meander south at a slow pace.  Made it to Paso Robles tonight and are staying at the Wine Country RV Resort.  This is a very nice park but a bit spendy for our budget.  One night is okay but anything more would be a bit much.  I didn’t get any pictures before the sun disappeared so I’ll try to get some in the morning before we leave. 

Our last couple of days in Santa Cruz were mainly spent doing laundry and other chores and getting things ready to roll.  But we did manage to carve out some time for some fun as well.  Kate and Terry were marvelous tour guides and graciously drove us around and showed us the sights.  One of our favorites was last night when we visited Capitola and the beach walk.

What a beautiful area!  There is a great walkway all along the beach.  There was a beachside restaurant that reminded us of one we saw in Maui.



Earlier we had seen this patron request service at a table for one.



The waitress was not very accommodating and made it plain that “No shoes, No shirt, No service.”  Good luck elsewhere my friend.
 

The rental house across the water were as colorful as the sunset we were about to experience.




In just a few minutes the sun began to set and the sky lit up with pinks and reds and blues…and even an airplane’s jet trail overhead added to the spectacular sky.

We ended the evening with dinner at one of Kate and Terry’s favorite places and the food was wonderful…but I can’t remember the name of the place!  But the best part of the evening was just the fellowship that we had with our friends.  Thank you Kate and Terry for showing us a wonderful time and for everything else too. 



About 25 miles north of Paso Robles on Hwy 101, we made a quick rest stop.  I had to take a picture cuz I thought this was one of the prettiest rest areas I have ever seen.  It looked like a Mission and was in fact on the old Camino Real route.  There were a lot of historical facts and pictures about the area.  Great stop.  Good Night All.
