Okay, we’ve worked really hard the last few days and Therapy is pretty much ready to roll. We took the dogs for their initial ride today…went all the way to Cottage Grove, OR to the big McDonald’s there and had fish tacos and Brussels Sprouts milk shakes – NOT!
I have a short video tour for you. One thing I failed to mention…that big hump between the cab seats is one of the foam blocks we use to level out the seats in the van for the dogs. Rusty needs to see out the front window and the block fit just perfectly between the seats. We had the air blowing on him (like he wants) and he could see out, but he is still unsure about this business of moving an entire HOUSE down the road. A
nd he is pretty concerned about that thing hanging over the front window…it just might fall at any minute.
Poppy, as 
expected, loved every minute of it.
I also forgot to show the pantry which is on the outside of the shower door. The big mirror there is actually a door which opens to reveal 6 bin-like shelves which hold everything from spices to canned goods. Works well. Our home may not be big and fancy but it suits us perfectly. It is big enough to move around in, and small enough to be easy to drive wherever we want to go. We hope to be out in nature a lot more than we are in a full service RV park so we think we’re going to like this just fine.
I was going to film the outside tour when we got home but we were just ahead of a big storm. We no sooner got parked when the wind picked up and the heavy rains began. I’m glad we did not go to the lake as we had planned. Russ turned on the TV and it said we were having gusts at the airport (just a few miles from our house) of up to 56 mph. Probably not what some of you have been experiencing in the desert, but unusual for us here in Eugene. That’s some serious wind. I think we’ll just hunker down for the rest of the day and try to stay warm and dry.
Looks like we lost a few shingles off the garage/shop roof and a few small limbs off the sweet gum tree, but I think that's about all. Nothing too serious.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour. I have really only seen empty motor homes at dealers and shows. It is interesting to me to see how people put their own stuff in.

ReplyDeleteI have to wait and view your videos when I have a better internet connection. We're having a lot of rain and wind up here near Port Townsend. I understand that Vancouver had strong winds this afternoon--one friend reported that their mailbox blew over, and another friend said that they lost power for 2 hours. Crazy weather! Good job on getting your motorhome stocked and taking a trial run with the dogs!

ReplyDeleteAs the saying goes, the more room you have, the more you'll use. A nice compact unit makes life easier ... we decided that wasn't going to work for us for full-timing, but once we settle down again, we'll be trading in for something much smaller :-)))

ReplyDeleteI very much enjoyed Le Tour de Therapy! It looks like you have it organized very well and have loads of space and storage. I hope that Rusty will soon take a lesson from Poppy and become a seasoned traveler.

We heard about those winds on the west side this week, something like 150K people without power for a time. Somehow missed the bullet here in Klamath Falls, although some signs were blown down. So nice to see your rig, I am looking forward to following a fellow Oregonian out on the road!
ReplyDelete@Malone...we took a drive up to Grand Ronde yesterday along Hwy 99W. LOTS of debris and tree limbs down mostly between here and Corvallis. It was one heck of a storm. Hope we don't have another real soon.

@Kate - I know - I am SOOO forgetful. I need to take a picture of it and post it before I get it too filled up! I sure do like that pantry. I also need some more bins but I bought everything Walmart had in stock at the time.
