So we started the day with me making a nice breakfast for Tim. We don’t see him that often so like to spoil him a bit when we can. Besides, that boy needs some meat on his bones.
He scarfed down two eggs, two WHOLE waffles, a big chunk of ham and a glass of OJ. That’ll help fill him up (and out!) Late in the afternoon we went out to pizza and that was enough to keep us for the day.
This evening Tim returned the favor by cutting some low hanging limbs off a cedar tree that were obstructing the front walkway. He worked for a couple of hours on this project and cleaned everything up and even swept the walk. We sure appreciated the help.
Tomorrow is Tim’s last day with us so hope we find something special to do. He says just relaxing for most of the day was fine with him. He has to go to work tomorrow night so he’ll have to leave here in time to get to the job. It’s been a nice visit and we are always thankful for time with the grandkids. Just wish summer was a little longer so we could see more of them.
Seeing your grandson makes me miss ours -- we haven't seen him since Thanksgiving but planning a trip to Dallas in the Fall to see him:)
ReplyDeletenice to have some 'help from the young ones'! once in a while!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to cook for someone that loves to eat what you fix?
ReplyDeleteAhh breakfast - best meal of the day. And having a young helper around is even better.
ReplyDeleteAw, that's a nice post about your super-special grandson. Glad you got to spend some quality time with him and glad that he (kind of) got to relax for a while!
ReplyDeleteNice post and a great looking breakfast!
ReplyDeleteAfter all that work, he's gonna need more fattening up! Hope you stuff his pockets with leftovers before he leaves ;)
ReplyDeleteI remember eating great breakfasts like that & not gaining a pound either. Aw yes, those were the days. Long, long ago.......
