Russ said he wanted to buy some little sticky notes to help us remember stuff but I said I had some at home. I forgot to give them to him so he forgot to call the car dealer about the squealing brakes (we just had them replaced last week)!
We noticed on Monday the water level in the pool was getting a little low. About 2 p.m. Russ put the hose in, turned it on full blast, and … you can guess the rest. About 8 a.m. the next morning I opened the patio door and this is what I saw:
The pool is definitely full and we will have some REALLY green patches in the lawn. I certainly hope we don’t forget to pay the water bill!
I was so sorry to hear of the events in Aurora, CO. I am also disappointed with the rumors and kibitzing going on in the media and elsewhere. Some are even politicizing this terrible tragedy. Why can’t they all just calm down, let the police do their job and keep the inane comments to themselves? I know, too much to ask. My heart goes out to all those affected by this terrible event.
I had to comment right now, if I defer comments to later I'll forget.

I laughed and laughed because it is so very true. We are always forgetting everything. And the tragedy in CO is beyond sad. What in the world makes someone do such a terrible thing. My heart breaks for everyone including the shooter's family.

ReplyDeleteThe tragedy in Aurora is another sad chapter in Colorado's recent history. Have to wonder what it says about our culture that things like this happen. I just can't wrap my head around it.

ReplyDeleteI'm like Shoeless Joe, if I don't do things the very second I think of them chances are I'm going to forget. Forgetting to answer emails & leaving comments on blogs while I'm reading them happens to me all the time. I once left the Motorhome running for 5 hours because I forgot I had started it earlier in the day. Have done the same thing with the rig's generator a couple times too. And the list just goes on & on & on...............
ReplyDeleteBetween forgetting and plain old procrastination I'm always amazed I ever get anything done. The good news is I forget what it was I was supposed to do so I never feel bad about not doing it.
ReplyDeleteA real tragedy in Aurora especially for the families. I'm not a media blamer though as this is a difficult story to cover - how does one even begin to explain this.
I'm always amazed and shocked at the firearms arsenals and equipment these guys manage to get.
Rick, I don't blame the media for reporting facts. It is when they take an already tragic story and attempt to sensationalize it even more by focusing on untruths and innuendos that I take exception to their tactics. Both ends of our political spectrum have been guilty of that in this case and I do not think that is responsible reporting. The attempt to inflame and politicize a tragedy is simply grandstanding. That is what I was referring to.

DeleteKind of nice to hear that other folks forget things too. I'd like to blame my forgetfulness on my old age but have to admit I've been that way all my life. I write things down... especially shopping lists... then forget to take the list with me.

My dad did the same thing with his pool one day. Both the neighbors thank him for watering their yard...hehe
We decided not to get a pool, I was afraid that I would drain it and forget and use the diving board:)

DeleteOh my, does all this sound familiar. Doug and I are Oregonians, but are full time RVers now. Our sticks and bricks house was in Milwaukie, OR. Anyway, we have been on the road for over five years now and when we talk about our experiences, we're good at remembering WHAT we did, we just can't remember WHERE we did it! You'd think living in a motor home, we couldn't lose anything in such a small space. NOT!! It's nice to know we're not alone!

DeleteThe good thing about memory loss is that it seems the bad memories go away quicker than the good ones. Soon all the memories will be good ones hahaha!
