Just a quick update

Well, we are on the move!  After a VERY late start on Monday evening, we were so tired we only made it to Seven Feathers before crashing for the night.  Wanted to get to Reno tonight but at 7:00p.m. decided we had done all we could for the day and are stopped in a parking lot in front of a vacant office building next to the Susanville, CA Walmart.  There were no signs prohibiting overnight parking so I hope we're good for the night.

I am piggy backing the internet from motel across the street with a low and slow connection so will wait until tomorrow to post photos and blog about my trip.  Hopefully I can read and make a few comments on YOUR blog before I loose my connection!

Happy Travels to all and to all a good night.

  6. You might want to try an Alfa antenna for times like these. It really helps bring the signal in stronger. Sage travels.

  7. I think we may have passed you yesterday. On Tuesday, we traveled through Susanville around 11 or so, stopped for some lunch in the MoHo at 12:30 in Alturas. Glad to see that you didn't run into any snow at all! Rumors are for snow, but here in Rocky Point I don't see any sign of it. Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day for driving. Looking forward to seeing more as you travel

  8. Travel safely! Susanville...brings back memories. You're not far from Chester and we used to make a trip to Walmart every 3 weeks or so to stock up. Sigh... Enjoy your trip.

  10. We have a wifi booster which sometimes helps us get a better signal. Glad to hear that you are on the move! Safe travels and I'll look forward to reading your blog and seeing your pictures.

  11. Nice to see you folks on the road at last. Parking in a well lit lot is a good idea & it has also been suggested to have your door facing into the main part of the parking lot towards the store for extra security. Always remember to check the pins in your tow bar if your towing anything before you leave. Kids in malls etc have been known to pull locking pins out as a prank. If your carryiny bicycles always check them as well before leaving the mall or whatever public place you are parked at. Malls have high volumes of young people around so one has to be vigilante. Aside from having a bicycle 'shifted' in a Roswell NM Wally world we have never had a problem anywhere.
