But We Were Sad

The kitchen floor was always clean
No muddy footprints to be seen
No doggy dishes on the floor
No scratches at the kitchen door

The yard was nice and on the ground
No “doggie piles” were ever found
Quiet reigned, no barking noise
No tennis balls, no squeaky toys
…But we were sad

Now there’s paw prints in the kitchen
But you sure won’t hear me bitchin’!!
The yard needs “scooped” two times a day
And Ollie has a lot to say

The yard is filled with balls and toys
And what’s that funny squeaky noise?
No empty house, no lonely days
A lot to do, new kids to raise!

We have a lot of love to give
And still a lot of life to live
We have two angels to impart
Those muddy paw-prints on my heart
…And we are happy

Our Golden (14.5 yrs) had a horrific seizure Wednesday. He has remained unresponsive but the dr. is hopeful he'll pull out. We have the weekend and then a decision will be made. Say a prayer for us!!!
