It really is not a bad lake. It’s shallow and somewhat muddy, but it provides lots of recreational opportunities in the summer. In the winter they draw it down for flood control and the boat docks are high and dry. Today there was quite a bit of water in the lake already and the boat docks are pretty much surrounded by water. We saw two people putting their boats in the water so I guess they didn’t hit bottom!
It really felt good to be walking around the lake with a dog on the end of a leash. Of course we can’t let these critters off leash like we did with Poppy and Rusty, and they can walk a WHOLE lot faster than we can, but we did our best to keep up. Thank goodness, they leave the tables in place over the winter so we could take a rest when we needed to. Russ is feeding the dogs a little treat for being so good. Look closely and you can see Ollie licking his chops in anticipation.
“But mom, I can’t look at you. The sun’s in my eyes!”

Another afternoon of sun and blue skies has made us all a bunch of happy campers – not that we are actually camping – but you get my drift. One more day is promised and then it is back to Oregon weather. Spring can’t be far away though as we have daffodils and tulips coming up and robins are cruising all the lawns looking for fat juicy worms. And I just looked at the clock and see it is 5:30 p.m. and the sun is still shining and it’s not DARK outside. WOO-HOO…the days are finally getting longer. That’s a good thing!
It must be like exploring an all new world with the new pups to show you things you may have missed before. I love these longer days.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice for the fur kids to take their people on an outing. Russ sure got their attention with those treats.
ReplyDeleteI guess the blue sky means it has finally stopped raining and snowing....a least for a moment. Good for all of you to get out and enjoy the moment. Sigh, I can only hope that Spring is around the corner!! We have snow expected tonight.....again.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA...I said the same thing to Paul tonight about it being light out and it was already 6:30. How we look forward to the little things in life.
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone is enjoying the lake.
ReplyDeleteA day without best Pals is a day without sunshine.
ReplyDeleteSunshine AND best pals--that sounds like a double dose of sunshine! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat seeing you out and about... and having good enough weather to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteit's called a Cairn, a man made pile of stones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairn
ReplyDeleteLooks like the four of you had a great outing!
Everyone is looking pretty happy these days - especially you and Russ. Well done.
ReplyDeleteSo great to see you out in the sunshine enjoying the new pups. You made me miss Oregon talking about the daffodils and tulips starting to come up. Springtime in the Northwest will burst forth fairly soon.
ReplyDeleteThe 'sun is in my eyes' pic is absolutely adorable! Yes, spring seems just around the corner, doesn't it? Whew!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you guys are enjoying your new “kids”. Rusty and Poppie would be happy that you still go to their favorite places. What lucky pups to have found you. :)
