About dinner time tonight, we got a blast of cold air coming through. The weather report said it was Canadian Air so thanks a lot my Canadian friends!
The hail beat a tattoo rhythm on the roof and the thunder boomed in accompaniment . This is unusual in Eugene so I had to rush outside to get some pictures. Just as I turned on the video, a big thunder boomer roared across the sky.
And this is what my yard looked like! Not a big deal but interesting because it is so unusual.
Look at the center of the tulip – it has hail in it.
No tulips no more!!

ReplyDeleteNo hail with our Sunday storm ... but plenty of boomers and lightning, and of course lots of rain. At least we weren't on the road. The nice things with tulips is that they will bloom again ... but you might have to wait a year ;-(
ReplyDeleteMother Nature can sure make things interesting. There was a tornado somewhere up north of here last week and they reported baseball size hail in the area. Loved the video. I tried to post one the other day of the love birds, but it wouldn't go through.

ReplyDeleteThunder in the valley is so unusual. This spring has been pretty unpredictable across the nation. Sorry to see those beautiful tulips beaten down. That happened one year to my wisteria. All the blooms disappeared in one day with a big rainstorm.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I miss about Spring in the northeast - tulips, daffodils and crocus. But here in TX there are all those Bluebonnets now.
