First they heated up the existing asphalt with a blow torch. Then they shoveled hot asphalt into place and sometimes heated it some more. A small steam roller packed it down. It doesn’t look like this was a budget buster for them and I’m wondering how long it will hold up. We’re going to contact the county as the new asphalt really looks crummy and they did some damage to our old asphalt with their machines. What a headache!!
So here’s a short clip of the goings on in
At least it looks nice and level now so we should have an easy in and out of the driveway with Therapy. Do you think it’s time for her to get out of her little house???
In a word...YES!!
ReplyDeleteSo things are busy at grandma central. I did enjoy the video of other people working, that's always fun. Before the summer is over can we expect another video of that rock band that appeared on your back porch last year?
ReplyDeleteWork fascinates me too...I can sit and look at it for hours!! Unfortunately, had too many other things going on this summer to get the band practicing much. The two more musically inclined ones went to their separate band camps and I figured that would have to do for this year. I'm really glad you asked though!!
DeleteYes, I think you all need a vacation. I'm sure you could use it after all you have been through.
ReplyDeleteTraveling always makes you feel better.
Hope the drive way holds for you.
ReplyDeleteHey Russ, know you are ready to fire up the Therapy and hit the road !!!!! Good thing no one let that road crew know the pancakes were on the stove !!!!! Sounded like a great breakfast !!!! Time to start packing up !!!!!
Somehow, progress is a pain in the...you know where; so I agree, it is time to get out a bit and relax in nature!
ReplyDeleteI think they got rid of those belt machines because they thought it wasn't good for your insides to juggle around like that. I wonder if he knows that.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think Therapy is begging to try out that new driveway and street and drive away down the road! You've had quite a hassle all summer with the roadwork!
ReplyDeleteI think a little road trip is in your future!! it's about time!!
ReplyDeletePaul and I got a big kick out of your description of the jiggling machine. What a hoot.
ReplyDeleteGlad that job is finally done. Seems like it has gone on all summer.
I think Therapy looks very lonely. You two need to visit him more. I think it is a him. I can't really tell from the angle of your photo...hehe
Yes, the highway is calling to you! Pack up Therapy and GO!
ReplyDeleteYour driveway looks nice.
Get that little house out of its house and into the woods! With you guys and no teens in it.
ReplyDeleteDifferent than here, Donna. Usually, there are one or two men working and ten standing around watching them. Looks like everyone was participating. Rich and I were in Crescent City CA with the motorhome, once, at a Taco Bell. They were paving streets on both sides of the parking lot…ding dongs never gave a thought that they were paving us in!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Russ…time to head out in Therapy. I'm dying to hear about your trip to the Astoria area--but I'll take stories from anywhere in between! :)
I think that LazyDaze is "begging" to hit the road....would be a nice trip after your past month of activities.
ReplyDeleteOn the driveway work, lets hope they put some sort of angle where the water will run out to the street instead of back down your driveway toward the house.
Humid in the 'tropics' of southern Indiana....Oregon weather sounds great!!!
I definitely think it's time for some Therapy. :)
ReplyDeleteIf that was a hint that you'll be going on the road, I think we all picked up on it. Yes ... a change of scenery will do wonders for you guys.
ReplyDeleteOMG. Your driveway looks beautiful. Seems it may be worth the fuss and wait and noise. Can't wait to try it out!
ReplyDeleteWe are still in Port Orford. Hope to see you down here one of these days.
As a follow-up, we sent you a sus to your email (yahoo). Just wanted to make sure you receive it.
