On our drive out to the wildlife area, we passed this lovely looking farm.
I’m wondering how long all that nice white fence will stay nice and white? I’m sure it’s vinyl but even vinyl gets dirty after a while. This was only a small portion of the fence…it stretched for acres. Very nice with the red barns and stalls. The sky cleared this afternoon and the temps reached up into the low 70s. PERFECT!
This is the stallion that was in the pasture. He came right over to the fence alongside the road. When we didn’t have a treat for him he lost interest and began taking his temper out on the mare. We left so he would calm down. Beautiful horse though.
On the way home we spotted this on a main corner near our house. I told the grandkids to start saving their money for spring break! Hope the mud puddles dry up.
Yes, I know these traveling shows are not the best but I went to them when I was a kid and you’re probably more likely to get struck by lightening that to get hurt on one of these rides. The operators don’t want to be put out of business.
Poppy had another vet visit today. Her cultures came back and she has an antibiotic resistant infection in her leg. So we are trying yet another antibiotic. The leg does look some better but it is still nasty. She has an appointment for a re-check in a week. She’s going to be our million dollar baby before long!! (and worth every penny!)
Sure hope they can find a drug that will work for Poppy. They are definitely million dollar babies and more if need be.
ReplyDeleteI like those traveling carnivals also. No grandkids for me to take to them but I sure loved it when I was a kid.
On the way to church last Sunday, I saw a woman with a pail and a rag, out scrubbing her vinyl fence.... Sorry to hear Poppy is still having infection problems. Hope the vet finds the answer soon. I wonder if Clackamas County has those same kind of passes.
ReplyDeleteIf you ever get to Florida, they have miles of horse fence that are black. They are gorgeous. Go Poppy! time to get that leg better now. Nice to see you home again enjoying Eugenie Greenie sunshine.

ReplyDeleteYep, we need some advantages to getting old. lol Hope Poppy's leg is completely well soon. My husband had a complication many years ago and they had to combine two antibiotics....just never know what works or why. But ur right, worth every penny. I was wondering a few days ago why I never took out insurance for our baby....just didn't think about it. Hope y'all get to use some of those passes soon.

Well it must be nice to be a VIP in Oregon. Well worth it I'm sure. Poor Poppy hope her leg gets well soon and they can find the right antibiotic.

That street carnival looks like fun... your grandkids will love it! They'll come away with all the junky stuff (and be full of junky food) that makes the memories. Hope Poppy gets well soon.
ReplyDeleteThey have miles and miles of that white fencing in Virginia's horse country ... always looks bright and shiny. Now that Poppy's leg has been diagnosed, hopefully the right antibiotic will make short work of making her better.

Yes there are advantages to being old but not sure if they outweigh the disadvantages. HA! That sure was a beautiful farm. I hope they finally got Poppy's leg problem figured out.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful horse. We had white vinyl rails on our deck. It got nasty green mildew on it. Wiped clean easy enough but still not my idea of fun.
