Here are the things I wonder about and would like some feed back. If a commenter has an email address available I sometimes send a short note acknowledging the comment or answering any question that is left in the comment. The downside to this is not every commenter shows an email address, and if they have a question, I cannot respond.
If you leave a comment on a blog that has interactive comments, do you go back and see if the blogger responded to your comment? If you are a blogger that has this feature, do you go back and re-read your comments to keep up with possible interactive comments? Does this take a substantial amount of time?
It seems to me to be quicker and easier to just send an email note if one is called for but then that limits any discussion that might ensue. I read Tioga George and he has a “shout box” that allows the commenters to interact with each other and George just makes a comment occasionally. Any thoughts on that?
Not an earth-shaking topic but one I wonder about. How do you respond to comments?
AND, just because I want to, I am including a photo Russ took in 2008. Just to show that we are learning something – I showed Russ the photo and asked him if he knew what it was. Without batting an eye he said, “It’s a Cedar Waxwing.” Dang if he wasn’t right!!!
