My Sis, Laila, called this afternoon and suggested we meet for a late lunch at Louie’s, our favorite local Chinese restaurant. Laila and her husband, Brian, are the crazy folks who went to Reno with us last year and participated in our “planking” adventure. Laila is about at the end of her school term and they wanted to celebrate.
Since I always take pictures of our meetings with bloggers, I figured it made sense to take pictures of our lunch today. If you are ever in Eugene, and you like Chinese food, Louie’s is the place to go. It is close to the University so if you are visiting campus, it’s very convenient.
Don’t be alarmed by the amount of food in this picture. It’s all Brian and Laila’s! We ate very little….hahaha
Needless to say, both couples will be eating Chinese leftovers for a few meals! We like the family style, lots of choices.
Now, you all know what big Duck fans we are but let me show you some REAL Duck fans. These people bleed green and yellow (school colors) and attend just about every game that comes along. This is a picture from inside their car. Can they see to drive??? They say they can.
Their little Duck friends go everywhere with them!
Celebrating their 13th anniversary later this year, I think this is one internet romance that’s going to last!! We had fun today despite the rain!
Love the Ducks, though hubby is a CAL alumnus!! Also that header pic of the Willamette reminds me of our walks along the trail.
ReplyDeleteWe are having rain here in ID. First rain we have seen in months. And after a half a day it can go away as far as I'm concerned. I'm ready to turn around and go back to the heat.
ReplyDeleteIt takes at least two years to acclimate to all the rain - after that the webs begin to grow between your toes and you begin to waddle like a duck and it doesn't matter anymore! I hate the heat so given a choice I'll put up with the rain.
DeleteYes...we want sun...lots of it and NOW!
ReplyDeleteEgads...you four need a larger table for all that food. Yes, I totally believe you that it is all Brian and Laila’s.
Well, sun is predicted. It's just around the corner. You know those weathermen are always right. Right?
ReplyDeleteAll those ducks would drive me quackers. In Missouri we have Tigers and they won't fit on the dash.
ReplyDeleteHow fun, Brian and Laila look like great people! I hope you get some sun. You know you guys have the BEST summers! I loved being in Eugene last summer. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had rain, rain, rain today, too, along with thunder and lightning. But we didn't get the hail that was predicted. I like Chinese food, too, along with Chinese leftovers!
ReplyDeletethe two of you can make a rainy day 'sunny' just with your wonderful smiles!!..an internet romance?..how cool is that!..good for Laila and Brian!!!
ReplyDeleteRain, followed by more rain, followed by snow and then ended up with rain. We call it "June Gloom" down in sunny Southern California.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of planking so had to see what it is all about. You guys are too much!
Your own buffet! Now I have hankering for some Chinese ... for dinner maybe :-)
ReplyDeleteTheir family style for 2 will easily feed 4 with some left over. Hope you find some good Chinese for dinner:))
DeleteWow, what a spread! Putting that restaurant in my log for places to go while we eat our way across America! :-) Anybody wanting sun and heat, c'mon down to the Houston area...
ReplyDeletelove the ducks..and my word that is alot of food..we too have had nothing but rain....and we're sick of it....
ReplyDeleteBrian and Laila always like to order some things that aren't served with the family dinner so that's why there's so much. But it's good left over. And GO DUCKS!
DeleteOkay, what kind of Chinese name is LOUIE?????
ReplyDeleteIt means "good food" in Chinese!!
DeleteActually, that's a last name that's been around here in this area for a long time...restaurants seem to run in their family! Always great food at all of the family's restaurants, even though the restaurants have different names!
DeleteThose were pretty small doggie bags considering all the food on that table! Where was Russ?
ReplyDeleteYou can see my hand if you look really close! That was before Donna slapped it for reaching across the table. LOL
DeleteDelicious looking dinner and great company to share it with. They are sure the perfect couple. Like all those ducks they have collected. Looking forward to seeing you guy's. Have a great Saturday.
ReplyDeleteWhen you come through Eugene, could you drop off a load of sunshine please? I'll take it without the heat though!!
DeleteJuly will be here before you know it. It will be sunny by then, I hope!!
DeleteIf you move over a bit to the east side of the mountains it will be a lot dryer and you will still be in the same state (grin).
ReplyDeleteSo right - BUT, they have to shovel snow in the winter and we don't!!
DeleteAahh yes... Rain, Rain, and more Rain. BUT... TODAY was beautiful!!
